Leo Bouchard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowers Funeral Home - Houlton on Mar. 17, 2026.
MILLINOCKET, Leo Paul Bouchard, 81, passed away on March 12, 2026. He was born January 13, 1945, in Millinocket, the son of Clifford Sr. and Katherine "Kay" (Young) Bouchard.

Leo graduated from Stearns High School, class of 1964. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Betty" McDonald, on July 10, 1965. He worked for Great Northern Paper for many years until its closure, after which he obtained his CDL and started driving log truck for Arthur York Logging, a career he truly enjoyed. In 2009 he suffered a stroke and due to his medical challenges, Leo retired from the workforce. He enjoyed watching basketball, baseball and football but his truest enjoyments came from riding his Honda motorcycles, snowmobiling and driving his Ford Mustang convertible. Leo was a member, and past president, of the Northern Timber Cruisers. He and his wife, along with special friends Rick and Linda Leavitt and Byron and Sue Pineau, traveled all over the United States and Canada, enjoying every minute of every mile.

Leo is survived by his daughter Sherrie Pelletier and her husband Wayne, his brother Clifford Bouchard Jr., sister Betty Baker and her companion Bruce Jones, sister Mary Bouchard and many special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth, his parents, Clifford Sr., and Katherine, his father and mother-in-law George and Glennis McDonald, sister-in-law Martha Bouchard, and brothers-in-law Carl, Philip and James McDonald.

The family would like to thank and extend their gratitude for the care provided to Leo: Dr. Edward Dunstan, Millinocket Regional Hospital, Sweet Seniors Assisted Living and Katahdin Health Care and all their staffs thank you for your kind and compassionate care throughout the years.

A graveside funeral service is planned for Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Millinocket Cemetery, time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Leo's memory to the American Heart Association. To share condolences and memories online visit www.bowersfuneral.com
