Michael Pyskadlo Obituary

Michael S. Pyskadlo, 94, of Cohoes died Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, embraced by his loving family.
Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Stanley and Clara Pyskadlo. Beloved husband of the late Laura M. Pyskadlo.
Michael was an area resident for many years. He served his country in the Army during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge, receiving two Purple Hearts. Michael retired from The General Electric Company, Schenectady in 1980.
Michael was an avid bowler on many of the former Cohoes teams. He had a very special love for golf and he was able to say he had a hole in one! He enjoyed these sports in Florida as well and he was quite the shuffle board player, too. In the early years he loved to go to Saratoga, as he was an avid horse race enthusiast. He belonged to the Sons of Poland and the PNA Club while in Cohoes and he also was member of the Moose Club both in Cohoes and Florida. His Polish heritage was a very important part of his life and he truly enjoyed dancing and listening to the Polish music.
He and Laura moved to New Port Richey, Florida in 1980, where they enjoyed their retirement for 27 years. Moving back to Cohoes in 2007 where he spent many happy times with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Michael was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes.
He is survived by his devoted children, Robert (Delia) Pyskadlo, Sr. of Latham, twin daughters, Michele (Chuck) Fannucci of Ballston Spa, and Maureen ( Neal) Forbes of Greer, SC. Adored grandchildren, Mark and Robert Pyskadlo, Jr., Darcie Sitterly, Tammy Savoia and Michael Forbes. Cherished great-grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas and Michael Savoia, Kayla and Emma Sitterly, Lexah Pyskadlo and Patrick and Allison Forbes. Several nieces and nephews who we are so grateful to for always being there for us.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Pyskadlo, Adele Semenick and Stasia Skawinski.
Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Michael's Church, Cohoes, at 10:30.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.
