Nancy Halford Obituary

HALFORD, NANCY SCHAGHTICOKE - Nancy M. Halford of Meadowview Drive passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was 70. Born on July 11, 1941 in Somerville, MA, she is the daughter of Roy and Sylvia (Randall) Nicks, Brooksville, FL predeceased by Robert MacCurdy. She is the wife of John D. Halford, Jr., whom she married on November 4, 1961; fast approaching their 50th wedding anniversary. Nancy was a Registered Nurse until she took over as Corporate Treasurer for the family business, Hoosac Valley Farmers' Exchange, Inc. in Schaghticoke. She enjoyed spending the winters at High Point Golf Community in Brooksville, FL. Locally she was an active member of the Presbyterian United Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Above all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her beloved husband, John and her parents Roy and Sylvia, she is survived by their loving children, Sylvia Daigle and husband Dan of West Sand Lake and John (Jay) D. Halford, III and wife Tammy of Wilton, her adoring grandchildren, Laura Daigle, Michael Daigle, Tyler McMahon and John D. (Ian) Halford, IV. Also survived by her sister Sandra Bogossian of Brooksville, FL and many, many friends. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:30am on Sunday, October 9 at the Presbyterian United Church, 165 Main Street, Schaghticoke with Pastor Mary Woodman officiating. Inurnment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Nancy's honor be made to the Presbyterian United Church, PO Box 148, Schaghticoke, NY 12154.
