Virginia C. Merola

Virginia C. Merola, 92 of Troy passed into eternal rest on Sunday December 9, 2018 at The Samaritan Hospital in Troy ,surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in Port Henry NY and was the daughter of the late James and Maria Esposito Tedesco and loving wife of the late Patrick R. Merola who passed away on October 17 , 1958.Virginia had been employed at the former Tiny Town Togs Co. and The S & M Grocery Store both in Troy. She was a communicant for many years of the former St. Mary’s Church in Troy .Virginia enjoyed playing cards with her girl friends and bowling many years ago and reminiscing about Merola’s Bakery but the most important thing to Virginia was spending time her children ,grand children and great grandchildren .Virginia is survived by her children Patricia ( Harold Cook ) Merola of Troy ,Frank ( Nina ) Merola and Louise ( Anthony ) Mariano both of North Greenbush .She is also survived by her two sisters Anna and Martha Tedesco and was pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters Fiore Tedesco Sr., Philomena Scorsone , Urusla Vellotti ,Beatrice Cioffi , Reginald Tedesco and Wallace Tedesco.Virginia was the very proud grandmother of Anthony ( Susan ) Merola, Patrick ( Michelle ) Merola ,Michael (Jessica ) Merola ,Frank Jr. ( Laura Stevens ) Merola ,Marissa ( Michael ) Venezio and Anthony ( Ali ) Mariano .She is also survived by her great grandchildren Alyssa and Kiley Merola ,Nicholas and Elisabeth Merola Vincenzo and Giuliana Merola and Niko M. VenezioVirginia is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Family and friends may call Wed Dec 12th, from 4 to 7 pm, at the funeral home.The funeral service for Virginia will be held on Thursday morning at 8;30 AM at The Bocketti Funeral Home 336 Third St. Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Church where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr.
