Kim Freeman
Rachel L. (Kim) Freeman, age 103, longtime Trumbull resident and later of Sun City Center, FL, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on December 31, 2023. She was born on April 29, 1920, in Farnham Surrey England. Degreed in Mathematics and Physics before the start of WWII, she later migrated to the United States as a war bride at the end of WWII, following honorable service to both the British Royal Air Force and US Army Air Corps.
Kim was known for her loving and kind nature, brilliant mind, integrity, quick wit and dry sense of British humor, as well as her strength and resilience.
She lived her life by the motto, "The day I can no longer serve another, is the day for the Lord to take me home."
Kim's most significant accomplishments included being the best mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. A leader in the residential real estate business serving the families of Trumbull, CT for over 40 years, she touched countless lives with her hard work and selfless acts of kindness.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kim leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and willingness to help others, that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Kim is survived by her loving family, including 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Bruce Freeman.
A funeral service to celebrate Kim's life will be held on April 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull, CT 06611, where she served on the Vestry for over 35 years. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Freeman Chapel in Kim's memory.
Kim Freeman will be remembered as a truly remarkable individual who made the world a better place with her kindness and love. May she rest in the comfort of the Lord's hands.
