Albert Andrews Obituary
Albert H Andrews of Tucson, AZ, (formerly of Dennis, MA), passed away on Dec 31, 2025 at his son's home in Tucson, at the remarkable age of 100 years old. He was born in Taunton, MA to Leonard C Andrews and Grace I Nickerson, with siblings Grace F and Leonard E, and graduated from Taunton High School. Albert married his sweetheart, Dorothy Miller Nov. 26, 1952. They had two children, Leonard C and Frederick M, but Dorothy passed away shortly after on May 29, 1955. He remarried Aug. 10, 1960 to Jeanette Reina Lemaire, adding a stepdaughter, Constance Lemaire, to the family and together they had two more children, Robert J and Carol A. Jeanette passed away Jan. 10, 1994. Albert met Lois F Rosenberg in 1996 and they entered into a domestic partnership Dec. 18, 2003. They had 22 years together before she passed Aug. 10, 2018.
Albert served in the Army as a Sgt with the Military Police until 1946. He was an active member of the American Legion for 63 years at three different posts, and commander at two. He worked at the Norton, MA Water Dept. for 4 years, then 30 years at the Dennis MA Water District as an asst. super, then superintendent. He was a member and past president of the Barnstable County Water Works Association, the Mass. Water Works Association, the American Water Works Association, and the Retired Municipal Employees Association of MA.
He volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader for 25 years with Order of the Arrow, an usher/collecter at two churches, and secretary of the Dennis Police Association.
After retiring to Tucson AZ, he worked as a Cpl rank security guard at Evergreen Air Center, volunteered at Picture Rocks Community Center delivering meals, belonged to a couple of bowling leagues,
also volunteering at Amory Park senior club, and accrued 3,000 volunteer hours at Freedom Park center. He was a member of the Pima Council On Aging, the Red Cross Regional Blood Program with a 12 gallon pin, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, AARP, and many other charitable organizations.
He loved going to the local Wagon Wheel post the last two years for karaoke night and seeing everyone.
He is survived by his two sons, Leonard and Frederick, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two siblings, his stepdaughter, and two children.
There will be a military interment ceremony at the Marana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 15950 N Luckett Rd, Marana, AZ 85653 on Feb 2, noon. Guests should arrive at 11:45.
