Allison Davidson Obituary

Passed away unexpectedly from an aortic aneurysm on January 21, 2023, one month shy of her 60th birthday. Allison's caring spirit will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including friends from her time spent growing up in Cincinnati and Milwaukee. Her greatest joy in life was being the proud mother of Caitlin, Cameron and Connor Davidson, whom she loved deeply and all of whom survive her. Other survivors include her partner Mark Roberts, her sister Jennifer Hamilton-Florsheim, brother-in-law Tom Florsheim, sisters Kathleen and Susan Hamilton and five nieces and nephews. Allison had many interests but her lifelong love of animals was her consuming passion and culminated in volunteering countless hours to rescuing, fostering and rehoming Labrador retrievers throughout Arizona. There will be a celebration of her life in Tucson on February 18, 2023. Email [email protected] for further details. Memorial contributions in Allison's honor may be given to Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue or The Humane Society of your choice. Rest in love.

Allison, still so hard to believe we will never have lunch again, and sit and laugh and be a little bit late getting back to work. Every time I hear Pink Pony Club I think of you, you would have really loved that song, I hear it all the time now so I've been thinking a lot about you. Not the same here without you.

Allison, I think about you and miss you everyday. I will never forget you, my beloved friend. Your memory lives on in so many ways - for me, especially as I work with DLRR and the labs you loved so.

Allison was my dear, dear friend. I came to know her well through our work with Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue. I first met her at a DLRR event, and our friendship blossomed from there. She was entirely committed to rescuing and rehoming labs. Allison fostered for DLRR, walked the pound to spot labs to be brought into the rescue, served on the DLRR nominating committee, and was always with me at the Meet & Greet events in Tucson to showcase DLRR and our available labs. She was a tireless advocate for all dogs, but her special passion was the labs. At any time, she was willing to evaluate a lab for intake or transport a lab to a foster setting. Sometimes she would hold a lab temporarily at her home while we found a foster rather than have that lab stay in a shelter. Her license plate said DLRR. Allison was all about the dogs. She also deeply love her three children and her sisters - family was everything to her. My heart breaks that she has left this world (the world was a better place with Allison in it), but I know that she is with all of the labbies who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. And she is waiting for us and those to come. I will miss her tremendously. Rest in peace and love, Allison.

Allison, I only knew you for about 8 years but I am so proud to have called you friend. You enriched my life and so many dogs. You were accepting of everyone. Rest in peace my friend.

Allison holds a very special place in my heart. She was one of those rare people who could talk with you after many years of not seeing you and strike up a conversation, share a laugh, and show love as if time hadn't passed at all. In my mind, she is forever young and forever kind. It did not surprise me at all to learn that Allison found a way to lovingly care for and re-home abandoned, lost, or mistreated Labrador Retrievers. I am sure she did it with a smile and abundant love even in difficult times in her life. I am so grateful that Allison came into my life and will remain forever in my cherished memories of our friendship.

Allison was the ultimate advocate for Labs. I was proud to know her and learn from her. She was positive and vivacious. I'm just so sad she left too soon. No doubt she is there catching up with all our Labs who have gone before her and she will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for those who follow. She will be the ultimate greeter. Thoughts and prayers to her children and partner and her many, many friends. Rest in peace, Allison.
