I was just reading a book called "We Who Are Alive and Remain" about the 506th and it mentioned a man called Armando Caballero. It was a sad story. Armando had been away at training for 5 months and the train went almost by his house - he could see his children in the back yard but they could not see him and he could not get off the train. I was almost in tears reading it. Armando's family should be so proud of the sacrifice he made to serve his country. God speed Mr. Caballero.

Dear Aunt Jo,Marty,Rene,Greg and Dion,
We are so sad to hear about uncle A.C. Our visits to Tucson will not be the same. We remember him by his love for his family, country and boxing career.
He was always eager to share his memories about his military service in Europe and singing in German. Our love and prayers are with all of you and your families during these difficult times,

Dear Marty,
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was such a sweet kindhearted man. He always had a smile on his face. I'll always remember him saying "isn't this a great country," when he would get his social security deposit. He was such a positive, special man and I feel blessed to have known him.
Love,
Marissa

Mr Caballero built one of the homes that I lived in and it was built to last. I was fortunate to meet AC and tour Tucson with him one day to see some of the other places he built. He was justifiably proud of his work and he made Tucson a better place to live. RIP AC.

I've known AC since I was seven. He always had a smile for me and made me feel welcome. He will be missed by all. He was a great man with a big heart that loved his family. He also made those around him feel like family. His jokes and smile's that made everyone feel welcome will be missed.

My Grand Pa AC was seriously the most amazing man. He always had a story to tell about the war or a song to sing. And he loved us all more than we could ever know. He will be greatly missed, and while we will cry we will also smile and laugh as we share stories of the part he played in our lives. I love you and miss you very much Grand Pa. <3
