Audrey MARR Obituary

MARR, Audrey Payne 11/11/1928 - 9/1/2017 Audrey Payne Marr was a sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Manteno, IL, she graduated from Manteno HS in 1946 and married Harlan in 1948. She moved with her family to Tucson in 1959 and spent the rest of her life caring for her adopted community. She was active in her church, St. Mark's Presbyterian, and found joy and comfort in the fellowship she found there. Audrey loved raising money for charities, baking cookies, going to the movies and being an avid Wildcat fan. It's been a wonderful life. She is survived by her sisters, Lois and Irma; sons, James and Jay (Karen); grandchildren, Jessica, Toby (Becky), Stacy and Brent (Monica); great- grandchildren, Ellie, Luke, and Azalea and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her sister, Joann; brother, Sonny; husband, Harlan and daughter, Kathleen. Special thanks to Patricia Marr and Genita Salvagio. Additional thanks to Drs. Steven Vig and Brenda Peart. Five stars to the staff at The Homestead on 18th and Pathways Hospice, for the excellent care they provided. Services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Audrey Marr Memorial Fund - St. Mark's, 3809 E. Third St., Tucson, AZ, 85716.

Audrey was a great person! I bounded with Audrey at St. Mark's where we made and served meals to the homeless and participated on church workdays. She will also have a special place in my heart for helping me meet my spouse, Lori on a date. Audrey will be missed, but now she is resting in peace and joy with Harlan and other loved ones.
