I worked for Angie for between 1 and 2 years. Angie was never a boss, he was always a very good friend. I was in high school and worked after school to make money. Angie was very fair and we were more friends than anything. He was a true business man but treated all with respect! Brown Van Candies was very successful.
Even tho all of us were still kids, he did a lot for all of us on his crew. He taught me a lot about life! I got older and graduated high school and joined the US Air Force to become a jet engine mechanic. Augie taught me how to be a salesman and never miss a sale! And he never put up with any of his crew lying about or misrepresenting what we were doing. He said to tell the truth. " I´m working to make money and stay out of trouble. "
And that was a fact. Augie was a very patient man. And he had a good heart. I talked to him in the 1980´s when I went to the Quickmart a couple blocks away from my apartment( now with a wife and 2 children) to get some milk. Hey! There `s Augie!! We talked for a few minutes. And then I moved to 3 points. I tried to see him at the Quick mart on
South Park near Valencia but our possible times to see each other never happened. I´m sorry to hear he is gone. Augie was a great friend and I have missed him for many years. If any of Augie´s family members would like to talk to me about Augie, I would love to talk you. He was a dear friend! I miss him. And I´m sure everyone else does too! And as you all know, he had a great sense of humor ! And he would help you if you needed it!
