I can't recall ever meeting any one in my 24 years that ever came close to you Carla. You are the reason why I am the smart, ambitious, out going person I am today. God brought me to you and you sure did straighten me out and put me right in my place like you have a tendency to do with people! You never let any one get to you and always stood your ground. I love you so much and miss you everyday, any one who was ever touched by your presence was very lucky and you there will always be a special place in my heart for you!!!!! God bless your entire family.

Carla,
You lit up every life you touched. You certainly lit up mine. I can clearly remember saving you a seat, every day, on the bus that took us to track practice at the Bamboo Bowl. Your laugh was so contagious, people were just drawn to you. To this day, every time I hear "Killing Me Softly", by Roberta Flack, I think of you and remember what a beautiful voice you had.
I am, and always will be, a fan of yours.
I Love You!

I just found out why Carla hasn't been answering my e-mails. When Carla didn't answer, I knew something was wrong - that's how much I could count on her. I never met Carla in person, but I felt like she was a good friend just from knowing her for a few years as one of her advertisers. I'm writing this hoping that my message will reach her family so they know the impact she made on our world. If I'm in shock, I know your pain is very great, but please know that she's still around you everywhere in our hearts. Your Carla was a gem of a human being. She was the epitome of a professional... and could she ever crack me up! I could always count on laughing and feeling good after talking to Carla. I don't know why God took her from us (I wish he hadn't because we need more "Carlas" on this earth) but I believe in "a reason for everything" and know she earned a first class ticket to heaven that day! Your Carla was a beautiful person - I'm sure I'm not her only business contact who will miss her greatly. I'm sorry for your loss, but I hope that her memories that make you laugh will soon replace your sorrow.

Mom
I know your time here with us was wonderful and full-filled. You are the best mom, grandmother and friend anyone could ever ask for and I wouldn't change it for the world. I miss you so much and could never thank you enough for giving me the life you have. You have not only been a great mother to me and chipmunk, but an inspiration to me. I love you more than you will ever know. I know certain times I made things hard for you to deal with. But I do promise you, that I will make you proud of me. You have given so much of your love and "wacky goodness" to so many people, more than I ever knew, and I am going to do my best to keep your memory alive. Jo-Jo asks about you all the time and I can tell even though he's still young, that he will never forget you. I will never let him forget you. I know for us you were taken too soon, but i also know that GOD took you for a good reason. He put you here on earth to serve a purpose and after seeing everybody who you have ever cone encounter with, I know that you served that purpose. You have touched so many peoples lives and I know that your in a better place looking down on all of us. I will always love you mom and I am going to miss you deeply. But, I will see you when it is my time and we will be reunited again. For now, I will do my best to do everything I can to make you proud and take care of my little brother & your crazy grandson, lol. I LOVE YOU!!!

Carla is the one I would go to at Tucson Newspapers when I needed to make someone laugh, she was so good at it, typically breaking out in song for no reason at all. Kerry and I will think of you when we are bummed about life getting in the way because you never let it show in front of us. We love you.

Hey Carla...
I received a call from "P" last night with the news. I haven't talked to KB lately or I would have known sooner. Either way girl, you're in that "special-place" that we will all journey to someday.
Looking back...remember we met when I was stationed at Fort Huachuca. Even though the fella's never wanted me to hang with them when they went to the "Zon", we did met when you came out to the Fort. You will always be a part of the "Dirty Dogs" legacy. Thanks for visiting Boom & me when you came to Cali. It was some years ago but we all had a wonderful time. You were always cheerful and positive and never sat still...(~_~)!
Well girl...give my baby and Nate a big hug for me when you see them...
I'll "holla" lata...
To Carla's family...continue to be comforted in knowing she is in now in the "Heavenly Home" that we all aspire to go to and she will be in your hearts forever...
Shalom & Blessings...

My deepest condolenses to the Wade - Hicks families and to all who loved and knew Carla.
I met Carla while I was stationed at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista. The first time Carla and her crew, K.B. and our crew met while partying at the Gold Rush , we knew right off the bat, she was a bundle of joy to be around. Carla could light up a room and just had a great heart. When I first returned to visit Tucson some years back now, I contacted Carla and had the opportunity to spend some moments sharing old times about the Fort fellas and the Tucson beauties,, during her break at the Convention Center. I'm really saddened that those will be the moments that I will always remember, along with the past. I really saddened that I will never see her again in this life. These are things in life that you don't really think about; but as we all know, no day is promissed.
To all of Carla's dearest friends and I mean friends, especially Roxanne, because if you saw Carla, you knew Roxanne was close by; friends we have all lost someone special. May we all cherish her memories forever.Carla Wade-Gamez!
Much love

My Dearest Carla(Sweethardy)Gamez-Wade,
I write this proclamation of my love to you and for all of you.
Because of you,I now understand what it means to be loved without conditions or expectations.
Because of you, I now know what it is to trust someone that you love and whom loves you.
Because of you, I now know what it means to show and tell that person that you love, that you love them AND REALLY MEAN IT.
Because of you, I now know what God meant when he said in his word that in order for us to love each other that we must first love GOD without conditions nor exceptions.
Because of you, I now know that honesty and trust are fixed parts in all successful and special relationships.
Because of you, I now know that we must share with the one we love all things regardless of how they may receive it.
Because of you, I now know what it means to hold dear to the memories that we make and share with the ones we love because we know not the time nor the day.
Because of you, I now know that humor and child like laughter between two people in love is the special love something that holds lovers together when times get tough and no one else understands.
Because of having known you and Denisha, D'Andre,Jovan, Mom and Dad, I now know that not only was I was truly lucky, I also now know that,I was truly blessed.
Because of you, I now know that it is always easier to all ways do the right thing, I thank you.
In closing, when I now look up at the Arizona night sky or any sky I will look for the twinkling and brightest STAR, because I will believe and know that it's you keeping watch as only Angels do.
I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER (Mean It),
Stephen Hardy

My deepest condolenses to the Wade - Hicks families and to all who loved Cara.
I met Carla in HS and haven't really seen her since.
My memories of Carla are of a very nice outspoken girl... To be honest I hadn't thought about Carla until I got that phone call... the one about Carla passing and did I know her...
I now think about Carla often, and I really hate that I will never see her again in this life... these are things that you don't really think about... I mean I wouldn't have thought about something happening to her due to her age... so young... but as we all know, no day is promissed.
It was nice to read all of the beautiful messages that were left for Carla. I know that Carla is reading them from above...
To all of my old (and I do mean OLD... lol) Santa Rita friends we have all lost someone special, but, we'll see her again one day... until then, i'm as sure as I know my name...Carla is in heaven making a ruckus... by now, all of the angels know Carla Wade-Gamez!
Much love...

Stunned and saddened by the loss. Carla you are a gift to all who were blessed enough to have known you in this all too short amount of time. I was fortunate to have worked with you and fortunate to have known you on the “outside” where you really shine. We will miss everything about you from the way you lit up a room to the unmistakable laugh, smile and charm that you exude. You are a terrific soul who loved life and gave everything in your heart to the people closest. SO unselfish, genuine, honest and HAPPY, I will forever remember you Carla; you made a mark. Sandy and Family,
My heartfelt condolences on the loss of Carla. Last week I glanced at the picture, and then today it called me again. Only then did I realize and it sunk in - she was calling me "Girl you know me!" I did and everytime I saw Carla she had a nice smile for me - we exchanged unas pocas de palabras and left with a smile. It is obvious that she was like that with a lot of people, this guestbook is a testimony to that. May her memories keep you happy and know that you will see her again as promised by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - she will be pain free and shining with the rest of us. Rest in peace Carla.

Carla,
It's the day after we all said goodbye and I can't believe the incredible pain and void that I feel in my heart. Listening to all your friends and family pay tribute to you brought back so many wonderful memories of back in the day. Your voice keeps ringing in my head...like when you used to say to baby Denisha and Sammy, "here comes 'auntie' Marie". It all seems so surreal.
The last time I saw you was in Oct at my Dad's viewing and I'll never forget how we both held each other and sobbed like babies. After not seeing you in over 20 years and seeing you there, was a bitter sweet moment.
Mr. & Mrs. Wade, Denisha, D'Andre, Sandy, Poopie all the extended family, I feel your loss and pain. You will always remain in a special place in my heart and prayers. Our world will never be the same without Carla. Carla was special and I do believe that she was (is) a messenger of peace, love and happiness.
God bless you and rest in peace, Carla.

Can you remember when I would whisper "Chaka Khan" and you would break out into a dance and make the whole credit department laugh the whole time?
Also, do you remember when you went to school with my mom at University of Phoenix and you snitched me out to my mom about my boyfriend using my truck during the day ?
I will never forget you and how you were such a wonderful, caring and funny person.
You will be truly missed at TNI and Tucson.
You have your fun in Heaven and show the angels the "Chaka Khan" dance (pretty sure they will laugh like we did)
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family for the lost of such a wonderful person. She will be truly missed.

I met Carla at TNI- we worked together for a brief time in 2007 at the River office.
Then when she moved back to the Park office I stayed in touch with her via phone. I called her for everything: just to say hi, or if I needed a shoulder to cry on, or to ask a question. She was always there for me and I miss her dearly. I am so sorry for your loss, she left this world a better place.

Carla, All I can think about are the good times we all had. I keep thinking about Lucille Ball, because everytime I'd see you I'd yell LUCYYYYYY, you would make that funny face, you reminded me so much of her. You were hysterical, and we had some great times together, you, me, Vicki and Marie and Donna. Las Vegas will never be the same!! You had such a wonderful spirit and I will miss you so very much! Until we meet again my friend I wish you peace for heaven truly has received a new angel.

Carla, you are one of a kind, a truly beautiful spirit. You were one of the first true friends I met here in Tucson and I will forever cherish the memory of you. My heartfelt prayers go out to Denisha, D'Andre, Steve, your parents and all of your many friends and family who loved you so very much.
I'll never forget you singing "To Be Real" at my wedding. Girl, you can belt out a tune! That was such a happy moment and how I will always remember you...singing, dancing, laughing and the life of the party! That was the perfect song for you to choose because you are REAL. Honest, direct and never one to sugar coat, that is what I loved about you!
I was looking forward to watching our boys grow together. I'm so sorry that your time on this earth was cut short, but I know you're in a God's hands and I'm counting on you getting your wings soon so that you can watch over us all.
I feel so blessed to have known you. I love you and will truly miss not having you in my life.
I'll catch ya on the other side!
Love and Hugs,

To Carla’s entire family,
My heart is with each and every one of you at this most difficult time. Losing someone as special as Carla, is next to unbearable! How can anyone begin to put in writing all of her wonderful attributes? It is impossible. She was everyone’s friend in good times and bad, always there to lend a helping hand to whomever needed her, a friend or stranger! She knew how to listen, to love, to laugh, and to care and to nurture others in her time here on earth. I will also never forget her calling me, “Tami Lou” and I called her “Carla Sue”.
Tami Ryder
DEAR CARLA SUE,
Carla, Carla, Carla,
There are too many things to try and remember right now. Just a few of things I will always cherish, is our bus trip to Rocky Point, (you planned it of course), late nights together at the TCC, late nights in the Automotive team back in the late 80’s, Christmas parties, retirement parties, company picnics, etc., etc. I’m positive you had your hand in all of them! One I will never forget is you and Dean doing a rendition of “Islands in the Stream” . You were Dolly Parton (balloons in your shirt and all) and Dean was Kenny Rogers. Girlfriend, I always admired how you could get up in front of a crowd the way you did. You used to give me the “pee giggles”, remember? The list goes on and on. My friend, I can not say goodbye, because it is only a matter of time before we are all together again. In the meanwhile, keep loving, keep laughing, keep singing, and keep things in order up there, okay?
Til we meet again!
Love you!
TAMI LOU
P.S. When you run into my mom, give her a hug and a kiss for me, OK?
The Carla I knew and loved in 1976. She was a great friend that I will never forget!

Carla & I met in high school, and became better friends while working together at Tucson Newspapers. "Queen Carla" is what we called her at TNI. Anything positive & fun, you could bet that Carla had something to do with making it happen. After working one of her many jobs the night before, Carla would often call and have me stay on the phone while she drove into work, then walk in and greet me with "What's Up Chiquita Banana" or Sis'ta Girl" just to name a few. Don't send out an e-mail with misspelled words. She would correct them and send it right back to you. When it came to Carla's hair & clothes, girl friend had it goin on. She would let everyone know "you have to flow" (match from head to toe). I will never forget the time Carla gave me a ride to pick up my car. I was amazed at watching her drive while eating (that girl could eat) did I mention the 2 cell phones. When I said something to her about her driving, she looked at me and said "Girl Please".
Carla,
Thank you for your friendship, and everything that you did for me and the kids. "Queen Carla" TNI & Tucson will never be the same without you. You have touched so many of us in so many ways.
Steve, Denisha, D'Andre, The Wade & Hicks Family,
My thoughts and prayers will be with you always. May God give you the strength to see you through this. Carla may be gone, but her memories will live on forever.
As Carla would say "Peace Out"

God Must Have Needed An Assistant
God must have needed an assistant
That’s the only thing that makes sense
To take away a child of God
Who many hearts she blessed
God must have needed an assistant
Someone who was strong and stood tall
He knew he could count on Carla
She was the one most of all
God must have needed an assistant
For the tasks he had were plenty
He knew Carla would be the one to say
“I can handle it Honey”
God must have needed an assistant
So he took away every ones friend
But those of us who know in God
Know that it is never the end.
God must have needed an assistant
So to Heaven he did send
An amazing woman who touched us all
Carla, we will see you again.
God Bless You Carla!

Carla - I'll always remember our days together on various committees at TNI. I can't count the times you put me in my place and did it with a smile or funny comment! The kind of way only a true friend would. You were truthful and honest and a much better singer than me!
We never did get to do that duet.
I'm sure you're putting on a show in Heaven. I will truly miss your energy and quick wit. Although we are all saddened, I walk around the building and hear stories of the happy times people will always remember!
God Bless You!
My thoughts are with your family, especially your children.

I know there are no words to say to take away the hurt away or to fill the emptiness inside of the one you loved so much. Remain steadfast and prayerful for God will get you through this season of grief.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Carla during our Weight Watcher meetings. I was brought in as a replacement leader for the At-Work Program and Carla was the contact person. She made me feel like we were the best of friends from the first day we met. She was the "glue" that kept the other employee members coming every week to the meetings. Carla was a fun and funny person. She will be greatly missed but always remembered.

My condolences and prayers to Carla's family. My older sisters went to school with the wWdes and Hicks. I used to always hang out and talk to Carla when I used to pay my newspaper bill back in the day when TNI's office was at Broadway and Rosemont. She was a very beautiful person and will be missed for sure. Please be comforted by the fact that Jehovah God will allow us to see her again in His promised resurrection. (Revelations 21: 3,4).

Carla was a sweet, lovely next-door neighbor. Although we didn't know each other well, we always enjoyed a laugh and a story when we saw each other. One fond memory was of her and Steve attempting to clean out her garage and I remember the laughter echoing down the driveway. Her passing has left a definite void in our neighborhood and she will be truly missed. May God bring comfort to her family.

Oh Carla - where do I begin. Even after all these years I still have such vivid, fond memories of you and your antics! If it wasn't for you Advertising never would have won the famous TNI Dance-off! You made it fun to be at work - your positive outlook on life was infectious and we all took pieces of you with us when we left.
You were loved and will be missed.

Although I had not seen Carla in a long time I was shocked to hear of her passing and know there will be a huge void here on earth without her. I worked in Classifieds at TNI in the 90's and Carla was a beautiful, spirited force in the department who took time and care with everyone around her. She was on top of everything at all times and so smooth in the process; always having a great time. Her family is in my prayers and want them to know a woman like Carla can only be produced by beautiful souls! Vaya con dios, Carla.

I remember Carla with more than fondness from my days at TNI. Carla was a vibrant, positive and passionate force of nature (on the dance floor or in the office she knew how to share a good time).
Carla was the hardest working woman I knew then or now-- How many jobs could one person hold down at one time? Yet these was always room for fun, laughter joy and especially kindess in her life.
She was truly God's gift to us-- a diamond, whose many facets enhanced her brillance.
Days may more somber because we miss her, but when we look up at the night sky we will know that extra shine is Carla's love for us.

From the first day of meeting Carla we were friends. She made me feel like she knew me forever. After high school when we were "Grown", she grew even more beautiful in her spirit. My life has been blessed in knowing her and she will live forever in my heart. Thank you for being my friend Carla. The Wade family will be in my prayers.

Carla,
Seriously…Devastated.
Mind, Body & Spirit…complete sorrow.
Coming to terms of your passing is heart wrenching and one must lend their trust to God working in his own, mysterious way, as the cliché goes.
Home has a new address for you and its heaven. My read receipt emails are now in the form of prayers and idle thoughts of appreciation are blessed be.
You are truest and dear heart as one of the only of a few trusting people, counting those on one hand and embracing the day to day soliloquies as a mark of remembrance from a mentor and friend.
Receiving the news while out of town seemed only fitting as I dropped the phone, numb with grief and wept.
Wept in anger. Wept in sadness. Wept in laughter. Wept when reality took form.
Wept at how you, this woman, with such ease, mended broken hearts with faint, soft words of wise and grace; Wept at how you worked so hard, endlessly, but rested others weary feet before her own; and Wept how your light guided those you knew and, more often than you realized, those you did not know.
There is a painful void where your spirit represented body, at idle moments a reminder of how intricate and delicate life’s web is… and we are all caught in its hint whispers of change.
Thank you.
Thank you for answering the phone with an acknowledgment of “What’s up baby boy!”
Thank you for making friends, family and foe attend the annual Furr’s Cafeteria luncheon in honor of your birthday.
Thank you for giving life to signature phrases of “Yes Indeed,” “Boy, Please,” and “I know that’s right” with a slight head tilt to the right, a raised right shoulder and arched eyes up from your reader glasses.
Thank you for always doing the right thing
Thank you for the side, quipped conversation sidebars of reality… when doing the right thing was not always the best thing
Thank you for being kind and generous, like a Natalie Merchant song
Thank you God for the gift of Carla
Thank you for living the true meaning of genuine and integrity
Thank you for including us in your life.
Missing you is the hardest thing to do.

My friend Carla, I cannot believe you are gone. I miss you so much already. You were always such a great friend to me over the last 22 years, never once forgot my birthday, always laughing, singing and joking. I always knew when I talked to you we would laugh and be happy! You and your children have always held such a special place in my heart. I will always think of you and remember you with a smile on my face.
