Carolyn Ann Edris

Carolyn Ann (Zimmerman) Edris born in Muncie, IN passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on May 23, 2015 in Tucson, AZ, preceded in death by her parents, Harrison Zimmerman and Alice Bebee Zimmerman and her husband of 61 years. John Henry Edris, Jr., of Bluffton, IN, died September 29, 2014 in Arizona. Carolyn attended Syracuse University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1981, Carolyn graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University with a Master of Arts degree. Shortly thereafter, she practiced psychotherapy advocating for women's reproductive rights at Caylor-Nickel Clinic in Bluffton and with Catholic Charities, Dioceses of Fort Wayne, IN. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, reading, fine and performing arts, playing bridge, Ikebana, knitting and needlepoint. She was active with the Wells County Public Library, for many years and Head Start. She is survived by a son, Bill Edris (Erika) of Vail, AZ; a daughter, Anne Edris of New York City and six grandchildren. May our mother, grandmother and 'mamaw' safely journey to be reunited with 'papaw'. Services for interment at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, IN will be announced at a later date.
