Charles E. Roberts

Charles E. Roberts died peacefully in his sleep on December 29, 2012. He was born October 12, 1932 to Estella and George Roberts in Simsbury, CT. He graduated from Suffield Academy in Suffield, CT and Bryant College in Providence, RI. He remained active in both alumni groups throughout his life. While at Bryant College, he met and married Gloria in 1952. They moved with their three children to Tucson, AZ in 1956. In Tucson, Charles entered the lumber business which he remained in for his entire life. He was co-owner of Lumber Country, Inc. which was one of the largest lumber yards and construction suppliers in the Southwest. After Lumber Country, he opened Lumber Yards, Inc. which he owned and managed until 2010. Charles liked to travel, was active in his parish at St. Joseph's and Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Churches. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years Gloria, sister Shirley, his four children David, Karen, Michael and Mark, two granddaughters Julie and Lis a, grandson Aaron and great-grandson Jack. Charles will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, DODGE CHAPEL, 1050 N. Dodge. A Memorial Mass, led by Father Ault, will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 S. Kolb Road.
