DANNY PAUL LEE PRATER JUNE 13, 1956 – NOVEMBER 19, 2006 Danny Paul Lee Prater, 50, a resident of Sierra Vista passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006. He was born June 13, 1956 in Eloy, Arizona to Paul Lee and Wilma Frances (Pierce) Prater. Danny served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Frances Prater. He is survived by his father, Paul Lee Prater; children, Jaime, Lisa and Joshua; brothers and sisters, Teresa (Dusty) Garrett, Sheila (Duane) Wetherbee, Karen (John) Holton, Jay (Michelle) Prater, Sean (Patsy) Prater and Tracy Prater. A native of Arizona, Danny spent most of his adult years in Texas and Oklahoma. After suffering a heart attack and stroke, Danny came back to Arizona to spend his last days with his family. Danny was called home by his Lord on November 19, 2006. Our family cherished the time we had with him and we'll miss him dearly. Services were held with immediate family only and we'd like to thank all those who sent their support and love during our most trying time. He will never be forgotten. In lieu of any flowers, family would appreciate donations, in Danny's name, be made to the American Heart Association, 5325 E. Pima Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary.

This condolence comes very late and many years after Danny's passing but I hope it is received still.

I am Jamie, Danny's daughter from his marriage to Fran. I never knew him, and regret that I am just finding this obituary after searching for him after my mother's own passing.

I would like to connect with immediate family to learn a little about him and perhaps see pictures of him through the years.

If this message is received please reach out to me: [email protected].

May God's perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

In Christ,

Jamie

Danny,
I just want to honor your memory today, your birthday. You would have been 51. Your birthdays were always a big deal to you and I have not forgotten. I miss you so much, dear brother. I have not done anything with your ashes yet, but I will find a beautiful place to sprinkle them. I cherish the last picture taken of you and will hold it to my heart today and always. We had a special bond in life and I still feel close to your spirit, show me a sign that you are at peace. I know you are at peace and out of pain and loving being with Mother and Grandma Pierce, Dood and all the others. I miss your memory, you never forgot anything so I know you have not forgotten me. Until we meet again know that I love you and will never forget you, ever!
All my love,
Teresa

So glad my family and I were able to see and visit with danny before he went to arizona. He told some good "remember when's"-things which I had forgotten about. We laughed a lot those few days. He informed Rachel about a lot of things we did growing up. And like Cindy said, he is in heaven with my dad, aunt fran, and uncle james. Have many fond memories with danny when we were growing up. I know he was at peace with god and was saved and I am very thankful for that.

One of my fondest memories is of the l o n g telephone conversations Phyllis and Danny used to have after Silver Bell had telephones. Dear Paul and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Danny. I have fond and funny memories of him. I know how hard it is to lose a sibling so young. As you all probably know, I lost my only brother 3 years ago. It was and is still difficult for me and I have watched my parents live through it as well. May God Bless you all and ease your broken hearts. My prayers and well wishes are with you.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I know losing a sibling has got to be so hard. It is also hard for a parent to lose a child. I have fond memories of the Prater family visiting us in Texas. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with the Prater family.

His time here is measured in quality, not quantity. And I hear he did well.

Good life makes a good passing. Do not let sorrow and sadness cloud that. Instead, hope and strive to do as well. It is the ultimate in recognition and honor.
