Darlene McGrath Obituary

Darlene Mary (Murphy) McGrath 83, a resident of Tucson for 23 years, died on May 3, 2010. Born September 27, 1926, Darlene grew up in Rochester, Minnesota and graduated from Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac, Minnesota. On September 7, 1946, Darlene married Max Edward McGrath at St. Francis Church in Rochester. Darlene is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Oaks, of Royal Oak, Michigan; one brother, Bernard Murphy of Bloomington, Minnesota; four children, William McGrath (Suwan) of Maui, Hawaii; Ann Louise McGrath-Briggs of Redwood City, California; Stephen Patrick McGrath (Sue) of Louisville, Colorado and Kevin John McGrath (Molly) of Roseville, Minnesota and five grandchildren, Erin and Patrick of Louisville, Max and Fiona of Maui, and Vika of Roseville. Darlene was preceded in death by her son, Michael James McGrath; her parents, her husband and her brother, Leonard Murphy. A private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pima County Library Foundation, P.O. Box 18245, Tucson, Arizona 85732-3245. Foundation telephone: 520-881-9876.
