I was so sad to hear about Mrs. Jensen's passing. She was my 4th Grade Teacher at Davidson during the 1979-1980 school year. She was the best teacher I ever had! She was patient and kind and fostered my love of art. I ran into her several years ago and it was so wonderful to see her again. I tell my kids about her all the time. My condolences, thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

Many people pass through our lives. A very small number make a memory. Doris Jensen was one of those people.
Doris Jensen was my third grade teacher at Davidson Elementary during the 1962/63 school year. Every time I sit down to sew, quilt or do crafts, I see her and hear her voice say "Rowbin" she called me that instead of Robin. Mrs. Jensen loved ART, she inspired me to be creative and to think outside the box.
Mrs. Jensen was very much involved with the set production of our third grade play "Hansel and Gretel. I remember helping to do some of the drawing and painting the cupcakes on the Gingerbread House. I think I was one of the Angels in that play. The stage settings and the play were a hit.
I never remember her being cross, she was always encouraging. She was always in her classroom even during the lunch hour. Always willing to talk and to listen. She had a wonderful smile.
Her passing saddens me greatly. I would like to express my sincere sympathy to her family. I will always remember her fondly.

Mrs. Jensen was not only my 3rd grade teacher but was my 5th grade teacher also at Davidson.... i moved away as a teenager, but rest assured when i had my son, and came to visit from Las Vegas, i made it a point to visit her, i was her demon child LOL i can tell you stories.. i was such a chatter mouth that she had to put a box on my desk to block me from talking....... the outside . it said TONI:s office.LOL...... so of course being the CEO of the Office i was the idiot that sat back in my chair and the chair went out from under me and i hit my head on the hinge of the cabinet and Mrs, Jensen grabbed my arm with her long fingernails and ran me to nurse.............. i have never and never will forget her!!!!!!!!!!

I taught with Doris at Miles ELC, what a beautiful woman inside and out. She was joyful in all she did. Our school was filled with beautiful art that her students made. This picture with her always beautiful smile is how I always remember her.

Doris was a beautiful lady and a wonderful, joyous teacher! She did, indeed, love her students and brought out the very best in them. She taught them gently, humorously and by example..a credit to her profession and a muse to many Tucson children.
