Doris Adams Ware

1933 - 2024

Doris Adams Ware, 90, passed away January 4, 2024. Born April 16, 1933 in Newport, AR, she was the 4th of 7 children. She grew up in Newport where she attended Girls State and helped lead her team to Arkansas State High School Women's Basketball Championships - 1951. She met and married George Whitacre Ware in 1952. They celebrated 64 years of marriage until his death in '17. Together they lived in Manhattan, KS, Columbus, OH and then moved the familyto Tucson in 1966. She was devoted to raising her children - strict, loving and laughing. Doris was a true Woman of Faith - raised in the Church, converted her husband to Christ and raised her children in the Church. She didn't miss church much, but she walked the walk -living her faith in Jesus Christ in all of her endeavors. She had an unparalleled personality and sense of humor! She never met a stranger - So much fun to be around. She loved her husband, her kids,her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her friends and her church. She also loved entertaining, bluegrass, going to lunch with the Girls, Mexican food, Johnny Cash, Elvis, shopping for her grandkids, most sports - but especially University of Arizona Wildcat Basketball - season ticket holders for decades. She is survived by daughters Cindy Carlson (Greg Ziebell), Julie Usry - of Tucson, and son Sam Ware of Dallas, TX; 6 grandchildren: John Carlson, Karyn Carlson, Matt (Kelsey) Carlson - of Tucson, Lauren (Jesse) Henderson, Ashleigh (Tyler) Adair all of Texas and Taylor (Garrett) Johnson of Nevada; 4 great grandchildren Archer, Callum, Reagan and Everest; Loving Sister JoAnne Burgess and brother Guy Dale (Linda) Adams of Arkansas; cousins, many nieces and nephews.
