Edward Montez Obituary

Edward "Eddie" A. Montez 54, born in Los Angeles and resided in Tucson, AZ, quietly passed away in his home with loved ones on January 29, 2012. Preceded in death by Ernesto D. Montez. He is survived by mother, "Minnie" Castaneda; three children, Trisha (Aaron), Michael (Erinlee) and Brian; 18 grandchildren and loving wife of 34 years, Cathy. Eddie is loved by aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Eddie bravely served in the Navy. While stationed in Hawaii he met the love of his life Cathy. They together raised their children in Tucson and their family grew to include 18 grandchildren who affectionately referred to their grandpa as "Papa Ed." He spent much of his time with the people he loved and enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. Eddie wished to be remembered in high spirits and in celebration of the lives that we carry on with his memories. He passionately loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be missed dearly by those who were fortunate to know him. The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Evercare Hospice. There will be no funeral services. With his family he chose to celebrate his memories by the spreading of his ashes this summer in one of his favorite places, Clifton, AZ. Future date will be determined. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.

"What was good And what was ill, What would save life, And what would kill. Thus gone, amongst you I may live. And dead yet speak And counsel give. Farewell my Friend, Farewell Amigo. I happy am - if well with You. Gently they go, the Beautiful, the Tender, the Kind. I know, but I do not approve And I am not resigned." I'm sure I'll learn how to live without You, but I will never forget You." To my Best Friend Eddie, GQ
