I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Dr McClain, but I just bought her book, _Ricky Discovers the Sonoran Desert_ at Summit Hut yesterday. Her love for nature and her sweet spirit shine through in her words. I hope it is a comfort to her family that she will continue to bless children through this book for many years to come.

I didn't know Erin very well, but we served in 2 boards together in undergrad. She was always kind and warm and I have no doubt that she had become a truly wonderful physician. I was truly saddened to hear the news of her passing. My prayers and thoughts go to her family and all the patients whose lives she touched.

Erin was an amazing person with an even greater heart. I went to medical school with her and have great memories of her. She was a very caring and beautiful person. She will be missed on earth, but is now our angel. My heart truly goes out to her family and I hope you heal a little each day. God bless.

I have such special memories of Erin and our Star Scholarship fund. I remember being in awe of her intelligence and drive to succeed in school. However, it was Erin's warm, caring personality and poise that endeared her to me. She achieved so much, and I was blessed to know her.

The world has lost a bright light. Erin always made those around her feel special. She had such a love of medicine and learning. She will be missed by so many and it is the children who will suffer the most. I will always remember how kind she was to me when I started in the NCIU. I will always remember her compassion with the babies. I don't understand Gods choices but I know she is safe in his arms.

Erin was an amazing Dr, woman and friend. She cared for my daughter as if she was her own. She became part of our family, celebrating joyous occasions and the saddest. I could write pages about her sweet nature, nurturing ways and generous heart...but the best I can do to sum it all up is to call her my friend. My dear friend. I will miss you so much...but I will see you again one day...

I am shocked by Erin's death. She was my classmate in residency and the first one who made an effort to make me feel at home when I joined her class in the middle of the year. She was always very compassionate with a beaming smile and got along with everyone. I was fortunate to keep in touch with her after residency too as she wasnt too far away. My heart goes out to her family. She will be missed forever

I am so saddened by the passing of Dr. McLain. She was truly an amazing person. I had the pleasure of working with her in the nursery at the hospital in Show Low, AZ, and in knowing her, too, as a friend. I will miss her very much, and I will think about her every day. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family.

I will always remember Erin as a kind, joyful person who brightened every room she entered. She was a patient mentor and role model to me. When I picture Erin, I see her smiling, laughing, and encouraging others...and rocking babies in the nursery as often as she could. We will all miss Erin tremendously. My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time.

The hospital has lost a very important, well liked and much respected doctor. It feels like a peice of our family is missing. She made everyone new at the hospital feel welcomed and always had a smile on her face. Our hearts hurt for Dr.McLains family. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel about Dr.McLains death our thoughts and prayers and with her family and friends.

When I think of Erin, I remember her smile and joyous approach to caring for children and their families. I have travelled through the Pinetop/Lakeside area several times over the past few years. Whenever I drove by her office, I always found myself smiling and thinking about how lucky I was to have known her and to have had the honor of teaching her during med school and residency. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

I have no doubt that Erin was a phenomenal Doctor as her entire life seems to have encompassed a true empathy and care for others as well as a drive and determination to succeed at everything she did. As rainbow girls together, we spent many years working side by side. Even the most mundane tasks were made fun when we got together and I don’t think I’ll ever know a better roommate for the late night gossip sessions that we’d hold in our room during our travels together. She was a wonderful friend and will be missed.
Mr. and Mrs. McLain, I send my deepest condolences to you and your family during this very sad time. Erin was an incredible light and the world seems to have grown dimmer for this loss. I will continue to send my thoughts and prayers to you during this difficult time.

I remember meeting Erin, when she was assigned to me as one of my campers at LTC. Erin was a terrific Rainbow girl, but more importantly she stood out as an incredible person. I last saw Erin in Salt Lake City. She had come up to check out the Children's hospital there. She spent sometime with my girls and I and I was again so impressed with how she was with my kids. My daughter has a heart defect and I can remember Erin asking me how she could be a better doctor, what parents were looking for, how she could better communicate and support her patients and help the parents as well. I was again impressed with how great a doctor she would be. Erin was a fantastic friend to me always. Erin was so special and she will be missed by all who loved her. Mr. and Mrs. McLain, thank you so much for the blessing that Erin was and know that you both raised an incredible daughter who spoke very highly of you both, I remember her telling me how loved and supported she felt by you both. I am so sorry, and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I first met Erin as a medical student in a CPR elective course I was helping coordinate. Then she befriended me and my daughter at the UMC Wellness Center where we became workout buddies while she did her residency. She was fun and lively and a true joy to be around always. She will be sorely missed and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family at their loss.

I am so truly saddened by loss of Dr. McLain. It was through her quick thinking and & judgement, that my daughter is with me today. I am so sad that my daughter will not grow to know Dr. McLain, but I can promise her name will be forever a part of my family. She was bright, enthuastic, loving & empathetic. She will always carry a special place in my heart. Praise God for allowing me to know her! You will be forever missed.

Erin was a wonderful medical student who worked tirelessly in the CUP (Commitment to Underserved People) program and was in the Rural Health Professions Program, "my" programs so I knew her well. Erin's devotion to kids was clear from the beginning, and although her life was far too short she made a difference in the lives of many children and families. She had continued to precept medical students in her rural practice, serving as a role model...something she did throughout many aspects of her life. Erin made a positive impact in this world in the short time she was here, and she will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers go to her family.
