Frank Casanova Obituary

Frank was born at the leading edge of the Baby Boom in 1947. He was the first child of Frank and Christine Casanova. Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, it was neither a small town, nor a sizable city. Somewhere in between. After a year in public school, Frank then attended St.Joseph's parochial school for the next seven years. He was a captain of the Safety Patrol and even served as an altar boy. During that time he also excelled in the Cub Scouts, but found the local Boy Scout troop too undisciplined to continue with scouting.St.Joseph's provided him an excellent basic education. That resulted in him being put in advanced classes at Rincon High School. At Rincon, Frank was voted Senior Class President, and won a State Debate Championship. Frank then enrolled at the University of Arizona, graduating in 1969.It was during those years, Frank became celebrity disc jockey (KTKT) and opened a retail store off campus. Frank produced a number of records with a local band, which are considered classics today. After graduating, Frank and his then wife Cindy moved to San Francisco, eventually landing a job at KNTV in San Jose. In 1974, he and Cindy decided to buy a camper van and tour the entire US. It was 20,000 miles over 6 months on the road. When Frank returned to California, he became a real estate broker for 10 years. It was then that Frank gravitated to his true passion....that of being a filmmaker and video producer. In the early 90s, Frank began Nova Video Productions, producing corporate videos. For over 20 years, Frank owned and operated a film production soundstage in Sacramento called The Studio Center. He became an award winning filmmaker with over 28 short movies and 2 full length features to his credit. Frank became the inaugural inductee to "A Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival Hall of Fame, having over 14 short movies premiering at that festival.During those years he married the love of his life, and life partner, Pamela Maier.Frank leaves his wife and partner, Pamela, and brothers Fred Casanova and Patrick Casanova.
