Fred Smith Obituary

Fred Andrew Smith 88, passed away at the Friendship House in Eagar, December 23, 2005. He was born July 23, 1917 in Vernal, Utah. He served in the United States Navy from 1940 to 1946. He was a resident of Tucson for many years. Fred was employed as a civil servant with Davis Monthan Air Force Base until his retirement in 1966. He and his wife moved to Greer in the 60s where they owned and operated the F Bar K store for 36 years. His survivors include: daughter, Barbara Leake, Greer; brothers, Bob Smith, Payette, Idaho, Jay Smith, New Plymouth, Idaho; sisters, Bonnie Ker, Richland, Wash., Mary Smith Davis, Surprise; four grandchildren, Whitney Jr., Jack, Carolyn, and Jeff Leake; and six great-grandchildren, Sarah, Angela, Joe, Lisa, Mallory, and April. His beloved wife and life partner, Kitty Smith, precedes him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity Ward in Eagar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. At the request of the family, please address donations to RTA Hospice, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929. Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, handled the arrangements.
