Henry Jackson Obituary

FLORENCE — Graveside service for Mr. Henry Razor Jackson will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Florence National Cemetery directed by Peoples Funeral Service of Florence.

He died Sunday, May 31.

He was born in Florence County a son of the late Mary Lee Jackson (Henry) Hines. He attended Tans Bay and Wilson High public schools. At an early age he joined Wesley United Methodist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a bricklayer by trade and worked for several construction companies. His personality was jolly and he possessed a love for people.

He was married to Carolyn Johnson Jackson and to this union two sons were born, Andrew and Ricky Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jackson; two sons, Andrew Leverne Jackson of Florence and Ricky Bernard (Lisa) Jackson of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, Courtney Sinclair Jackson and Brittany Dominique Jackson, both of Richmond, Va.; two stepsisters, Hattie Lee Scott and Angelia Freeman of Florence; a stepbrother, Terrance Hines of Chesapeake, Va.; four aunts, Margaret (Otis) Waiters of Effingham, Katherine Jackson of Florence, Barbara Jackson of Philadelphia and Louise Johnson of Richmond; two brothers in law, Isaac (CoCo) Johnson Jr. of Las Vegas, and Mack Johnson of Florence; his mother- and father-in-law, Isaac and Clara Johnson of Florence; two devoted friends, Mike Harris and Daryl Witherspoon of Florence; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 613 W. Sumter St.
