I was just remembering my first Dr when i lived in Buffalo, and searched his name. I was a patient in 1968 when I was 11. Such a kind man who was my Dr until I went to college. He filled out my health papers for college, and where it asked for a general description, he wrote beautiful ! My whole family loved him. Sorry he has passed. God bless. Denise Cable

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Dunn at El Dorado hospital and at TMC. I am a RN and knew Dr. Dunn as I worked on the surgical unit and my mother Glenda also worked at El Dorado as the PBX operator. He was a joy to work with. Greg also worked at El Dorado- wishing you all the best! We were both very saddened to hear of his passing. May I kindly ask if he completed writing his memoirs and if so, will it be published soon? My sincere condolences to your family. Sincerely, Cynthia Opdyke and Glenda Wilkins

My Dear, Dear Smithie,
I just received news today of Jim's transition. Needless to say, I was taken aback thus silence mixed with shock and heartbreak overtook me. My heart goes out to you and the family and I offer my sincerest condolences mixed with prayers for God to comfort each of you and help you to remember that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. For the record, I am honored to have had Dr. James Clarence Dunn make a difference in my lie. I am here for you if and when you need me. Love you much.

Smithie and family . . our sincere condolences. Jim was always a shining light - and friend to so many. We always enjoyed your company at family events. He was a true rock for Joe and made a difference helping after Lynn passed. In our thoughts - "Old friends never leave, they just walk on ahead . . "

Dr. Dunn was such a Tucson treasure who is sorely missed. While Dr. Dunn was a great doctor, surgeon and teacher, he was also a dad. I knew him through his son, Greg, and came to enjoy running into them both at TMC. The halls are just not the same without Dr. Dunn walking quietly through. He was so kind and so funny. My heart goes out to his family, especially Smithie who was by his side through his end-of-life journey. Love to you all!

Dear Smithie and family, I am so sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time. It broke my heart to hear that Dr. Dunn has passed. Such a beautiful soul!! I so enjoyed caring for him and being his VA nurse. I will miss his beautiful smile and having him roll up his sleeve and asking me which arm do I want to draw blood from every time I'd visit him. I pray that you'll have comfort, peace and strength and may your memories endure until you'll meet again. God bless you all!!!

I had the pleasure of working in surgery with Dr. Dunn. A prince of a man, kind, witty, thoughtful with a wonderful sense of humor. I valued the time he spent in surgery explaining anatomy to me and all his patience with my endless questions. All of the nurses at TMC adored him and were always pleased to work with him. He was a wonderful person and he touched many lives. I am sorry for your loss. Our Lord has welcomed him into His Kingdom with open arms.

I had the privilege to work closely with Dr. Dunn for many years, in the Operating Room, at El Dorado Hospital. He was such a kind and gentle man with an incredible wealth of knowledge which he was always willing to share. I still have the wedding gift, which I'm sure he put a lot of thought into. It has been our families go to book for medical questions and concerns for many years and it exemplifies the type of person he was- always thoughtful, kind and generous. God bless you Dr. Dunn and Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen
