James Glanz Obituary

GLANZ, James "Jim"

It is with a heavy heart that I am postponing the celebration of life for Jim Glanz scheduled for Saturday, January 15, 2022 at El Molinito. This was a difficult decision, but the right one for the safety of everyone due to the rapidly spreading omicron virus. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and kindness.

Glanz family and long-lost friends....
deepest sympathy at learning of jim's passing. it was early spring of '70 when i met jim and friends al, bill, donny, bob and so many others on the outdoor counts at nayler jr. high. that's where jim gave me the nickname 'tom slick', after the cartoon character who zipped back and forth on saturday morning tv. the name stuck...and has been my e-mail [email protected].... for decades. although i've been up in WA. state for many years, any return to tucson always included a call to jim and a round out at fred enke links. years ago, jim helped my dad ready our family home for sale when my dad relocated to TX. just one example of jim's ready and helpful nature. always 'owed him one' for that.
please know that there are those of us who, after long years and over great distances, remember and love our days paling about in the desert with jim.
be well and safe.
please give a measure of heartfelt care to ruthie, nancy and butch...all great friends in those days.
sincerely,
tom 'slick' scibilia
