James Douglas SOUKUP

SOUKUP, James Douglas passed away May 22, 2017, he was born on September 11, 1943 in Ellicott, Maryland. He lived with his family in Glenn Bernie and Arnold, Maryland. He attended Severna Park High School where he lettered in track and was awarded a scholarship from General Electric. Jim chose the United States Air Force after graduation. He was stationed at Fairchild AFB near Spokane, Washington as part of the SAC 567th missal squadron. While serving there he met and married Susan Jane Hildebrand of Spokane. Jim continued his education earning a degree in Business Management He had a 30-year career with IBM as an engineer. He worked in Seattle, WA, Moses Lake, WA, Tucson, AZ, and Boulder, CO. He retired in 1997 in Tucson, AZ. Jim was a member of Kiwanis, and he was President of Full Gospel Business Men's, International. He served as a Chaplain at Northwest Medical Center for many years. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Soukup; his mother, Dorothy Mae Reinhart and his sister, Sophia Mc Donald. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan; their four sons, James, Kevin, Matthew and Christopher. He has ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements by FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL.
