James Wintrode Obituary

James "Jim" Robert Wintrode Born October 31, 1946 in Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on June 8, 2006 in Tucson. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. Preceded in death by father, Carol "Kelly" Wintrode; and mother, Ione Hansen Wintrode. Will be remembered by daughter, Stacy Paisley; son, Michael (Kristi) Wintrode; brother, Bill (Debbie) Wintrode; three grandchildren, Stefani, Nathan, and Andrew; nieces, Courtney and Codie; dear friend, Debra Thomas. Our Dad moved to Tucson in 1957, graduated from Catalina High School in 1964, and the University of AZ in 1970. Dad had a love of golf and played the sport throughout his life. He also had a passion and involvement in local car racing for himself and his son, Michael. His enthusiasm for cars carried over as founder and owner of Canyon Auto Sales since 1983. Our Dad never met a stranger, everyone he met became his friend. His dry wit and humor will be greatly missed throughout the Tucson Community whose lives he touched. Dad, you will always be in our hearts. Services will be held Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Abbey Funeral Chapel, 3435 N. 1st Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by Greyhound Adoption League, 4310 S. Calico Lane, Tucson, AZ 85735.

Mike, Kristi, and Family,

We are very sorry to hear this news. Your family accepted our friendship with open arms and your Dad from the day I met him ten years ago at the track saw me as another one of the kids. We can not express to you with words our sincere sympathy for all of you. We are always here for you and love you guys.

Stacy and Michael... you and your familes are in my prayers. Words are heard to express at a time of loss, but I hope the memories (both old and new) provide some solace during your time of grief. Sometimes in death we realize how far reaching one's life was... I hope you will appreciate and cherish those memories that others may share with you during this time. Peace be with you.

Dear Stacy, Michael, Kristi, Stefani,William & other family members:

Just a note to say that you are in my prayers. When I was with you at UMC I was touched by the depth of love that you showed for your father/grandfather/brother. He was very blessed to be so loved. May God bless all of you with peace.
