I just thought of Jan and just searched for her on the internet. I am so saddened to learn that she passed several months ago and I missed saying goodbye. I met Jan in 1973 and we worked together throughout the years at the Anaconda/Anamax mine through its operation. We lost contact with each other with our busy lives. I have never forgot what a special and devoted friend she was and both the happy and also sad times we shared while together. I want to offer my sincerest condolences to the family. I know she is greatly missed but she is singing with the angels now. I am blessed to have known such a wonderful woman and friend.

I met Jan 30 years ago when I started working in mining. She was a great advisor and mentor but she also became a great friend. We worked together for nine years but we stayed in touch for decades more. She was so straight-forward and logical. When I was in my 20's and barely getting by she would buy my lunch. I protested and she would say, someday I will retire and I'll let you buy me lunch. I am so glad she let me buy her lunch or dinner. Jan was a wonderful woman and I feel blessed to have shared part of my life with her.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I was blessed to have worked with Janet at Anamax Mining Company and she was a work mom to me. Her smile and kind words of wisdom always went a long way. You will be missed my dear friend and co-worker. Rest in peace!

Jan is an icon to many of us that grew up at Sierrita Mine. She was like our work mom... listened to our problems and always gave us guidance and support. She was loved by many and those fun times will never be forgotten as those memories will be in our hearts forever. As my supervisor and friend, she positively impacted my career by helping mold me in to the strong woman that I am. Learned from the best! I am so honored that she was part of my life. What a woman!

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family upon their loss. I did not have the privilege of meeting Ms. Haberman, but what I do know of her and knowing her daughter, Patty, I am sure she was an example of a strong, independent and resourceful woman and a loyal friend. May God comfort the family at this difficult time.
