John Legate Obituary

John Legate was born in Buckland, England, on March 15, 1958. He passed away in Tucson, Ariz., on August 31, 2012. John graduated from Sabino High School, Pima College and took classes at the University of Arizona. He worked as a real estate appraiser with his father and later worked for the V.A. He began to have health problems after he was bitten by an Arizona Brown spider when he was 29. The result of this was the amputation of his left arm below the elbow. He was able to cope with this very well. At 33 he had his first stroke. Through the years he had four more strokes which caused him to be totally disabled. He managed to live alone with his faithful dog, Jazz. He died peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his mother, Joan; brother, Jim (Cynthia); brother, Kris (Amy); aunt, Glynda Mastrangelo; uncle, Tom (Charlotte); uncle, Bob Lux (Kita); numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, grand-nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the small chapel at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley, Ariz. Remembrances may be made to The Animal League of Green Valley, 1600 W. Duval Mine Road, 85614; phone 625-3170. Arrangements by GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY.

John was a delightfully kind human being and a wonderful doggie father to Jazz. Sorry to hear that he is gone from this earth.

Our dear Joan, It is with sadness that we write this note of sympathy to you. You and Jim were such wonderful, helpful counselors and friends whilst we lived in GV and we appreciated your friendship and love. Your John is now at peace and rests in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Thanks be to God.
