John May Obituary

John R. May passed away on April 11, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 79.

Born on April 1, 1946, in Lubbock, Texas, to Bob and Janey May, John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. Following his military service, he settled in Tucson, where he built a long and respected career as a Certified Master Mechanic. Over the years, he worked at numerous dealerships and independent shops throughout the area until his retirement.

John had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially loved hunting, which remained a lifelong passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Janey May, and his sister Kathy. He is survived by his partner Cheryl, his sister Patricia, and many nieces and nephews.

A service honoring John's life will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona, at 9:00 a.m. on September 26, 2025. A celebration of life will follow immediately at 5731 E 13th Street in Tucson.

John will be dearly missed. Until our paths meet again... RIP.
