Lorraine Drachman Obituary

Lorraine McCollum Drachman was born in Safford, Arizona on May 21, 1933 and was proud of her fifth generation Arizona heritage. When she was four years of age, her family moved to Bisbee, Arizona where they lived until 1947. Her family then moved to Tucson where Lorraine would spend the rest of her life. She graduated from Tucson High School in 1951 and The University of Arizona 1982. Lorraine is survived by five children, Claudia Taylor (Allen), Boyd Drachman (Mary), Roy Drachman, Camille Drachman and Melissa Vinikoor (Greg), plus 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Lorraine excelled in her career as a fundraiser for the University of Arizona and Mission San Xavier. In 1983 she began working as an assistant to the President of the University of Arizona. She later devoted 12 years as the first official fundraiser for the Mission San Xavier. Lorraine created the annual Christmas Concert for the Mission, which continues today as a wonderful annual event for the Tucson community.
