Ms. Muller was an awesome teacher who genuinely cared about the wellbeing and future of her students. I credit her for preparing me to conquer Freshman Composition at U of A, and reading about her life activities has inspired me to join a book club. She was truly a wonderful soul.

I was beyond stunned when I learned of Madelon's unexpected death as she truly was one of the very best people I have ever known. We were English Department colleagues at Santa Rita High School and I found her to be joyful, positive, upbeat, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, well informed, empathetic, devoted to family, and an effective and loved teacher. These initial thoughts barely scratch the surface of this amazing woman. I will remember her always with great fondness and know the sun won't shine quite as brightly any longer without her.

My husband and I and my parents were for years attending plays at the Rogue Theatre with Madelon and Alan and mutual friends. Then we'd all go out afterward. There were other social gatherings that brought us together, and sometimes our husbands would play music together. What fun, a few years back to discover I was on a tour down to the Rio Sonora area of Mexico on a trip with Madelon. Such a memorable trip! Madelon loved learning about new places and people. Last year Alan and Madelon helped Bill and I celebrate our anniversary. Madelon brought her light into every social setting and her light will be remembered fondly by many. My heart goes out to Alan and the family.

So deeply saddened by Madelon´s passing. We worked together at the University of Arizona through the Southern Arizona Writing Project and she was such a gifted teacher, a smart, strong, caring mentor to teachers, and one of the most genuine and positive human beings I ever knew. Enjoyed sharing horse talk with her as well when she moved out east near us and our own horses. So sorry to not have been in touch with her in recent years.....but her beauty and her open face invited you in and lifted you up. Forever grateful for my time knowing Madelon and being a part of her life.

Mrs Muller ( Rubens ) was my English teacher in my Junior year at SRHS. (Class 91´). She was my most inspirational English teacher, and I have thought of her regularly even these last years, as I rediscover my creative and expressive side. I remember her telling me I had talent and that I should pursue advanced English studies. I meant to reach out to her recently to thank her for seeing something in me I didn´t at the time. Thank you Mrs Muller; you´re still inspiring me today. May your memory be a blessing.
