Margaret Patricia "Patty" McBride

1943 - 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother Patty McBride. On April 9, 2025 at the age of 81, Patty departed this life peacefully after a brief illness, with her loving husband and family by her side at home in Tucson.

Patty was born to Margy and Frank Sullivan on September 26th, 1943 in Louisville Kentucky. She attended Holy Rosary Academy, an all-girls school in Louisville, and remained lifelong friends with several of the girls. One fateful day in 1958 Patty attended a teen dance. It was at that dance where she met the love of her life, Mike McBride. Mike joined the Airforce and was stationed at Davis Monthan in Tucson, Arizona. He never wanted to be away from his love again, and they married in 1960 at the young age of 16 and 19. They were best friends and had a truly inspiring marriage of 65 years.

Patty was always there for her three children throughout life to listen and give good advice. She was vibrant, enjoyed life to the fullest with a positive attitude and lots of laughter. Always a gracious and thoughtful host, she loved celebrating every Holiday and Birthday. Patty was very social and played Bunco and Bridge several times a week, playing Bunco with her same dear friends for nearly 60 years.

Patty leaves her cherished family, her beloved and devoted husband Mike McBride, her 3 children Coleen Tom, Mike McBride (Dao) and Diane Gonda (Jeff), 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all whom she loved and adored and who dearly loved her. She was a big part of all of our lives and will be sorely missed. She also leaves behind her brother Frank (Phyllis) and many nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
