Margueritte Bryan Obituary

Margueritte Elaine Bryan 9/18/1930 - 1/14/2013 Margueritte Elaine Bryan, known to friends and family as Marbie, passed away peacefully on January 14th. Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, she was the youngest of four children born to George and Alice Bryan. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. She met her husband James Brault in Wisconsin and they lived in Ithaca, NY and Princeton, NJ before the family moved to Tucson in 1964. Marbie completed a second Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Drama. She combined her love of writing, acting and teaching and developed the Science Alive! program which brought historical scientists into the classroom. Marbie believed it was important to "pay it forward" and contributed to many charities. She was an active member of the Pima Friends Meeting and was instrumental in developing the doll project and Homeless Hospitality program. She was also a follower of the Dalai Lama and one of the highlights of her life came in 2009 when she received a hug from him on her birthday. She is survived by her children, Stephen Brault, Lisa Midyett and Jennifer Wright. A Memorial Service will be held for her at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Pima Friends Meeting House, 931 N. 5th Ave. There will be a potluck to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casa de la Luz Foundation. Arrangements by ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.

Marbie was a driving force in the Quaker world. She started many important services that we carry out today. She is greatly missed and we all benefited from her attitude that we can Learn to Love One Another.

Hugs and condolences to the family, especially to my dear friend Jennifer! Like my mom, yours is also no longer in pain and now at peace. Tough to lose a parent although I'm pretty sure she is smiling down at you with a great deal of pride. Your folks did a wonderful job! Love ya!
