Marie Moore Obituary

Marie Morris Moore Born September 6, 1922 in Shreveport, LA to parents, William Marshall and Lena Marie Morris, died Monday August 22, 2011. Her family moved around the states of Louisiana and Oklahoma before settling in Winnfield, LA, where she attended high school. After graduating from Winnfield High the family moved to Tucson in 1939. After arriving in Tucson she met and married Thomas F. "Tommy" Moore a railroad switchman, June 11, 1942. They had three children, Linda, Tom Jr. and Mary. Marie worked over 25 years for J.C. Penney, was involved in many organizations including Switchmen's Union of North America Auxiliary and the Auxiliary of the UTU. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ana Lee Winters and Pauline Hebert; brother, William M. Morris and husband, Thomas F. Moore. She is survived by her three children, Linda (Alfred) Tank of St. Augustine FL, Tom (Marie) Moore of Tucson and Mary (Alan) Rayner of Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. Her loss will be deeply felt by all. The family would like to extend special thanks to Rhonda, Chris and everyone at Feel at Home Assisted Living and Odyssey Hospice for the compassionate care extended during her last precious weeks with us. Viewing Friday, September 2, 2011, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott Ave., Funeral and Celebration of Life, Saturday, September 3, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, with burial immediately following at Holy Hope Cemetery.
