Marilyn B. Ramsay

Marilyn B. Ramsay passed away unexpectedly May 22, 2013. She was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She attended a private girl's school from K-12 and had only had 50 girls in her graduating class. In 1950 for college, she moved to Arizona to attend the U of A at the wish of her mother. Her mother, Kathleen, was born at Ft. Huachuca while her father was stationed and briefly commanded the Army post. While at the U of A, Marilyn met her future husband, William "Bill" A. Ramsay, Jr., and married December 23, 1954. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and enjoyed many antics with her sisters. After graduation, she worked at the Valley National Bank as a teller before starting her family. Marilyn later went back to the U of A to get her high school teaching certificate. She did her student teaching at Tucson High School. Although she spent many years as a homemaker, she went back to work and held managerial positions at many different apartment complexes as well as storage units. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her dear sister, Kay Wilhelm of Cleveland, OH. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Pfotenhauer (Gary) of Tucson, AZ and William "Bill" Ramsay, III (Kelly) of Encinitas, CA. She was grandmother to Alyssa Pfotenhauer of Tucson, Jack Ramsay, Charlie Ramsay, Will Ramsay and Joe Ramsay of Encinitas, CA. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph's hospital for the care they provided for our mother. A Memorial Service will be held at La Mariposa, in the Starlight Room, at 1501 N.
