Mark Edward McGovern

1953 - 2024

Mark Edward McGovern passed away October 20, 2024, in Tucson. Mark and his twin brother Mike were born in Tucson on March 20, 1953. Mark is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Pat; brothers Kevin and Terry; and son Jeff. He is survived by siblings Tom (Lorene), Mike (Debbie), Molly and Andy. He is also survived by nieces Shannon, Whitney, Meghan, Mischa, Sydney and Nikki, and nephew Garrett. Mark served in the Air Force and had lots of stories of his being stationed in London. After suffering a TBI almost 36 years ago, Mark showed great resiliency, valued his independence and displayed an impressive knowledge and use of the bus system. He worked at TEP, enjoyed all kinds of food, and remained forever stubborn. He was a great sports fan, crossword puzzler and movie buff. Deep thanks to his long-time caregiver and friend Virginia Swango. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 11 a.m., at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.
