Nancy Wiedemann Obituary

Nancy Wiedemann, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. Nancy was born on October 9, 1938 to Gustav and Patricia Maass in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Brian Maass. Nancy attended Smith College, and married Theodore James Wiedemann in 1957. She is survived by Ted and their three children, Martha, Amy and Michael, and two grandsons. An avid gardener and tennis player, Nancy enjoyed exploring Tucson, learning about the desert ecology, and the native peoples who made it their home.

No service is planned at this time. Given Nancy's lifelong love of learning and commitment to serving others, the family requests that in lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations be made to educational institutions or charities supporting Native American children, such as St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT.

Nancy was my best friend in elementary school in Glendale, Ohio. We lived almost next door to each other. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding . We last saw each other at my daughter´s wedding in 1988 , but she kept in touch with me yearly on my birthday until I believe she wasn´t able to anymore. We had many happy times together and I am sorry to have just today learned of her death. My condolences to Ted and their children.
