Pauline Redondo Obituary

REDONDO, Pauline Frances

Pauline was born on June 6, 1927 in Tombstone, Arizona. Like that town, she was too tough to die. We were blessed with her presence until she left us on the afternoon of December 30, 2021, with her son Robert at her side. Her 94 years on this earth were a blessing to everyone who knew her. She was not famous. She didn't write books, champion any causes, didn't have a fancy education nor did she have money to be a philanthropist. But she always gave ten dollars a month to the Catholic Church and to Native American Children. She was a simple woman who worked hard all her life, starting at the age of 13. She was the kindest, most loving person who withstood numerous hardships throughout her life. Her greatest love was fixing large Mexican meals for family and friends. There will never be another taco like Pauline made. Our grief is eased only by knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband Don Luis, her mother Mary, Grandma Cora, sister Joanne and brother, Sonny Boy. Left to grieve are her son Robert, Carol, who she loved like a daughter; siblings, Patricia, Tommy, Leota, Stephanie and her husband, Onvy. A Funeral Mass will be held at St John's Church, 602 West Ajo Way at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022. It is requested that everyone wear a mask. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

She would always come to my job to be seen and we quickly grew attached to her. Due to covid and other person matters I left that job and unfortunately never got to see her again. She was the most sweetest and kindest lady and I will never forget her! RIP Miss Pauline!

My sister and brother were out of the house by the time I was 9 years old so Bobby and his mom next door became important role models in my early life. so many good memories. I can still see my mom saying " hi Paula!" as she came in the back door almost every morning. To say they were best of friends is an understatement. When my dad built a wall between our houses he put in a little gate so it would be easy to go back and forth. Tamale making at Christmas was always fun. Pauline knew the tricks of the trade and we would make dozens and dozens in our kitchen to serve to our neighbors Christmas eve. These memories remind me to try to be as helpful and selfless as the ones who raised us. God bless them!

Bobby, I can say Amen to my sister Bonnie“s words. You and your mom were like part of our family. Pauline was always there with us for all the big events and daily happenings of our lives. I have this image of her as someone who was always serving-whether as a grocery store clerk, a waitress, or just helping our mom get stuff together for a picnic. She was so loving and we all loved her in return.

Dear Bobby.....I am joined by Jennifer and Daniel who share our most profound condolences on the passing of your dear mother Pauline. Our prayers of sympathy are with you and those who mourn her passing. She will always be remembered for her kindness, hard work, generosity and deep dedication and love that she had for you, her family as well as all who knew her. She was so devoted and a true blessing to you, as I witnessed every time I was with both of you, especially those many time we enjoyed her masterful cooking. She is now resting in the loving hands of her Heavenly Father and in the company of her family and friends who are now rejoicing with her, and no doubt waiting for her to grace them with her famous tacos. May she now Rest Forevermore In Heavenly and Celestial Peace!

Pauline was our next-door neighbor and a good friend to my folks for many years. I can still see her sitting at the kitchen table visiting with my mom, or watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys on TV with my mom and dad. We grew up with her as a second mom, and then she became a second grandma to our kids. Rest In Peace, dear lady. Sympathy always to "Bobby," Carol and the rest of the family.
