Rex Bronnenberg Obituary

Reverend Rex F. Bronnenberg (01-30-1928 to 10-08-2025) passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of October 08, 2025 in Tucson, AZ. He was 97 years young. Up until a couple of months ago he was still very bright and funny in spite of being wheel chair bound for the last 7 years. Born in Anderson, Indiana, he lived most of his life in Glendale and Burbank California as a child, and later on as he got older. Rex was a life-long lover and owner of horses. He always had stables with horses when living in Burbank. He rode horses in the Rose Parade for 7 years with Gene Autry's silver saddle. He lived in Mexico City teaching English early on and was fluent in Spanish. He worked with his father in their bail bonds business for many years and then became a real estate investor. He retired early in life and became a Christian Minister and Historian. He studied all of the world religions and was very knowledgeable and committed to God's work. He worked as a manager and organizer for the famous faith healers Kathryn Kuhlman and Vicki Jamison-Peterson, and traveled the country and abroad giving faith healing sermons. Rex was loved by all. People who knew him will never forget his very vivacious, funny and entertaining personality. He was full of old sayings like "I wouldn't believe her if her tongue was notarized" or "The man is crooked as a dog's hind leg." He also preached to anyone who would listen on how to be positive and plant positive seeds. He used to say "If you plant orange seeds you don't get bananas." Pointing out that positive thoughts beget positive results. He also said "don't focus on your problem; put your focus and energy into the solution." Reverend Rex was a guest speaker at various churches as he grew older as he was dedicated to learning, teaching, and spreading the word of God. He outlived his mother Florence Day-Mayfield, his father Rex A. Bronnenberg, and his sister Patricia Ann Pompo. Rex was beloved by his living relatives of nieces Linda Perrenoud and Lesah Mutscheller, and nephew Donato Pompo and their families. He will be missed, but we know that he is with God now continuing on his journey. A memorial celebrating his life will be announced and held in Tucson, AZ in the weeks to come.

We have known Rev Rex for many years through our church, Water of Life, before it closed. A true angel of a man who was so inspirational to us.
We loved talking to him about prayer loved his jokes. " I visited the Dead Sea, before it even got sick". We love you Rex...save a place at the table for us. Rest in the arms of Jesus.
