Robert G. Armenta

Robert G. "Bobby" Armenta, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. A proud native son of Arizona, Bobby was born on October 25, 1942, in Ray, Arizona.

Bobby's life was marked by dedication-to his country, his community, and most importantly, his family.

His was a 1961 graduate of Tucson High School. After graduation Bobby answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy in 1963, embodying the values of discipline and service that would guide him throughout his life. He served honorably until his discharge in 1967. He began to further his education at Pima Community College where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. He also attended the University of Arizona, furthering a lifelong connection to the institution. He would cheer on as a devoted fan of U of A athletics.

He worked for many years at Tucson Newspapers then at the Fred G. Acosta Job Corps and later serving with the Amphitheater School District.

His passion for music was equally enduring-he loved listening to his "oldies but goodies," which brought him much joy.

Bobby is survived by his children Gabriel Armenta and Alexandra Bussell; sisters Georgia Carrillo and Irene Leon; sisters-in-law Maria Elena and Sylvia Armenta; two beloved grandsons Roman and Isaak; and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory with love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Monica Armenta; parents Ernesto and Armida Armenta; brothers Ernest and Frank Armenta; and sister Armida Madero.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held on July 19, 2025, beginning with a rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. by Deacon Bill Lugo. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. All services will be conducted at Most Holy Trinity Parish, 1300 N. Greasewood Rd. Private interment will be held at a later date at Holy Hope Cemetery.
