Ronald Hyman Obituary

Ronald Scott Hyman 55, lifetime resident of Tucson, Arizona, died on February 17, 2014 after a forty-year battle with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Ron was born in 1958, to Marvin Hyman (d. 2008) and Francine Deutsch (d. 2009). He graduated from Rincon High School in 1976 and attended the University of Arizona. He married Rollis Hyman in 1980. Ron honed his skills in financial accounting and bookkeeping in the 1980's, first working as a stockbroker and then as a bookkeeper for several local businesses. In 1989, Ron and Rollis partnered with Alan and Annette Miklofsky and helped to grow Alan's Shoes and shoes.com until it merged with The Walking Company in 1999. Ron then purchased Shedmaster of Tucson with friend, Nancy Adamo, and continued to consult for Alan's new retail company. Ron returned to work with Alan as controller in 2003, and finished his career there. Ron had a passion for U of A athletics, nature, the sea, and all things sports. Ron and Rollis spent much of the remaining years of his life traveling to away football and basketball games. He was a wonderful husband and a devoted father. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from all over, and he was a great friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rollis Hyman; by his sons, Matt Hyman of Dallas, TX, and Dan Hyman of Dayton, OH; by his siblings, Ken (Mary-Lyn) of Santa Barbara, Lynne Warne of New York, Heather Hyman of Chicago, Jody Jones (Dave) of Lakeview, OR, and Scott Reiner (Karen) of Tucson; by his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Emily, Brent, Lauren, J.D., Rachel, Nicholas, and Greyland. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Sivilli (Bill) of Loxahatchee, FL. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 East Fifth Street in Tucson. Ron, I remember being impressed by you on Facebook and how well you were handling yourself. Your body is no longer bringing you pain so soar! I wouldn't be surprised to learn that all of you are holding a PSC convention up there to work on a cure.
