Sharon Jordan Obituary
Sharon Anne Jordan, 83, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 27, 1942, Sharon carried a quiet strength and curiosity that shaped her life wherever she went. In 1968, she married Tom Grozek, beginning a new chapter of her life. A decade later, she made Tucson, Arizona, her home, where she built a life rooted in compassion, learning, and gentle wisdom.
For 25 years, Sharon served as a college counselor and psychology professor at Pima Community College in Tucson. She had a rare gift for listening deeply and guiding others with patience and insight. To Sharon, education was not just about instruction, but about growth - helping students discover their own clarity and confidence.
She graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn and earned her bachelor's degree in counseling from Prescott College, followed by a master's degree in counseling psychology from Vermont College of Norwich University. Her academic path mirrored her nature: thoughtful, empathetic, and deeply attuned to the human experience.
A lifelong reader, Sharon loved classic literature, a good mystery, and poetry. She was a devoted book club member in every community she called home and enjoyed engaging in thoughtful conversations about stories and ideas.
After retiring, Sharon moved to Gilbert, Arizona, where she adopted her cherished shih tzu, Lulu Bella. Their long walks through nearby parks and neighborhood streets became daily rituals of simple happiness. She treasured her annual trips to La Jolla, California, with her daughters, walking along the ocean and finding peace in the rhythm of the waves. Yoga was also a lifelong practice for her, offering balance, calm, and presence.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Patrick) and Kim (Rodney), and her grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Evan, and Kassandra, who brought her endless pride and joy.
Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet intelligence, and the grace with which she lived. She moved through the world with thoughtfulness and heart, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and gentle strength.
