I was fortunate enough to have met Stephen through his neighbors over 10 years ago. It was already stated, “There were no strangers, just friends he hadn't met yet”. I certainly found that to be true. Stephen saw a new face and headed my direction. Each time I saw him after our meeting he was first to say ‘Hello’ and ask how things were going in my life. He cared about his family, neighbors and friends. It wasn’t just friendships with people that Stephen cherished - it was also animals. A little while ago, Olivia and Stephen had a Yorkshire puppy attacked by a much larger dog. Stephen was quickly down on his knees comforting the injured animal and was grief struck at its passing.

Olivia and family; I have enjoyed my conversations with Stephen and feel honored to have met such a wonderful man truly devoted to his country and family. May God bless you and comfort you in this time of sorrow. Be comforted in the fact that Stephen is now seeing many new faces and walking towards them with his hand extended in greeting.
