I was hired to work with Steve at Borland in 1991. He was an amazing colleague and mentor, and I regret losing touch with him over the years. He has often been in my thoughts, and will continue to be.

I was a high school classmate of Steve's. He was a very bright, kind, spiritual person, and I enjoyed knowing him then, and regret that I didn't keep in touch. What he wrote in my high school yearbook has been a treasured gift through the years.

Steve was one of the kindest and most accepting men I've ever met. I will definitely do the bike ride in the fall in his honor! My thoughts and prayers go out to Melinda and his loved ones.

Only rode with Steve three or four times but he did indeed have a big smile on his face most of the time and I got the sense that he was a good guy and would have been a great friend.
