Vernal Horgan Obituary

Vernal Ann Horgan 10/9/1920 - 5/27/2011 Survived by her loving husband, Raymond; three children, Peter, Dan and Susan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann never knew a stranger. Her house was the gathering place for her children's friends and grandchildren waited for their coveted invitation to Granny and Ho's lake house where each child had an adventure filled month of happiness. Ann was born in Woodland, CA where she was happiest hanging out at her dad's service station in the center of town, or playing baseball in the park, that's where she caught the eye of another young ballplayer who became her husband of 72 years. They lived and worked in Sacramento and Chico, CA, ultimately retiring in Tucson, AZ where once again their home became the gathering place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to All Faiths Cemeteries, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson, AZ 85748. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

"Grannie Ann" and "Uncle Roy" were like a third set of grandparents to our boys. We all have wonderful memories spent at Bod Hut and the Lake House with them at Clear Lake. What glorious memories just the thought of Annie bring back.

God placed an angel in our presence with Ann. We will miss you Ann and know you and Lee and Scott are fishing and laughing and waiting for us.

Ann and Ray enriched our lives with love and fun.

My heart is with you Ray. we love you both.

Patient, fun loving and kind, that's how I remember Ann. As a little kid, Ann and Ray opened their hearts and home for us to enjoy. Ann made everything fun and never fussed about all the toads, lizards, lady bugs and crappie we toted around the house, and she often tenderly cleaned up wounds from our not so prudent adventures so we'd be patched up and ready to head out again. What a beautiful woman. God Bless you Ann and Ray.

Ray, Dan, Pete, and Sue:

So sorry to read about Ann. Hope the rest of you are well. The memories of the Stanley Avenue Gang are priceless. What a great way to grow up. Mom passed away about six year ago, and Neal about two years ago. Never easy to loose loved ones. Jeane and I are still in Sacramento, now with four grandkids. We would love to get together, if you are ever our way.

Again, our sorrow is only eclipsed by our great memories.
God Bless,
Loren & Jeane Campbell

You will always hold a space in my heart where I may find peace and safety. You taught me to dream big and believe I fulfill the dream.

To a sweet wonderful loving granny. Your sweet & loving heart will always be with us. I will miss coming over on Christmas Eve. Since I married your special & loving grand daughter we have made the last seven Christmas eve's a family tradition. Coming over to your sweet cozy home & as always you welcoming us with wide open arms, you had your home all lighted up with all your lovely Christmas decorations. I will miss the most is when I come to your aid & helped you get in to your chair or helping you get in to your car, by you holding my arm, & remembering you saying to me " oh bless you, your so good to me ''. The Gomez Family will always miss you, & will always have your sweet loving soul in our hearts. May God have you in his Kingdom... Love always J. Gomez & Family

Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17:6 Ann loved her family, and I feel so very blessed to have known her. I will miss you Ann, but you will remain in my heart forever.
