Eugene Joseph "Tookie" Marcel Jr.

1949 - 2015

MARCEL, "Tookie" Eugene Joseph, Jr. passed this life and went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015. Tookie was born Nov. 6, 1949, in New Orleans and moved to Tennessee in September 1986. Tookie was loved by so many people and he never met a stranger. He had a big heart for serving and helping others. Tookie loved fishing, camping, his pastor, his church family and sight-seeing with his three sisters-in-law, Cindy, Eve and Mary. Tookie loved his wife with all his heart. Tookie was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Joseph Marcel, Sr., and his mother, Mary Louise Marcel; two sisters, Catherine Marcel and Evelyn Lirette. He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Marcel; children, Kim (James) Patton, of Bronte, Texas; Brad (Olivia) Marcel, of Tullahoma; Kristie (Mitchell) Shockley, of Houma, Louisiana, and Amy (Justin) Gilliam, of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Blane and Nicole Smith, Blair and Delany Smith, Blaze Smith, Matthew Mar-cel, Macy Marcel, Joshua Peck, Vanessa Gilliam and Eric Shockley; great-grandchildren, Ava Rose, Ryder James and Tucker Michael; two brothers, Gary Marcel and David Marcel; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Asera Care Hospice, Lynn Myers and Sharron and Faye Jernigan. They were our angels in a time of need. God bless. The family received friends from 5 till 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at New Life Covenant Ministries at 813 S. Main St., Estill Springs, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 14, with interment to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made toward funeral expenses. Tullahoma Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
