Alfred Grimm Obituary

Alfred Birt Grimm, (85) of Catoosa, OK, passed away on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. On October 20, 1939, in Tulsa, OK to Irvin and Rosa (Dawson) Grimm. He grew up in Tulsa and attended East Central High School where he played football and graduated on May 22, 1959, where he received perfect attendance for all 12 years.
On March 29, 1961, Alfred enlisted in the US Army and served for 6 years until receiving honorable discharged in 1967.
After being discharged from the US Army, Alfred worked for the railroad in Texas for a few years and then moved back to Tulsa. Once he moved back to Tulsa, he then went to work for Ecodyne as a machinist. It was at Ecodyne that he met his bride, Phyllis.
On May 2,1975 Alfred married Phyllis Ross in Catoosa, OK at Catoosa Church of Christ. Together they built a life filled with love for each other, trust in God, and dedication to their family, church and community.
Alfred continued to work as a machinist at Gear Products until he retired. Upon retirement he just couldn't sit still so he decided to go back to work at Reasor's in Catoosa, OK.
Alfred was known for his smile and sense of humor. He was known as the best dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle. You could always count on Alfred to be there.
Alfred is survived by his brother, Billy; two sons, Wayne Johnson and wife, Mary, and Allen Grimm and husband, Darell; daughter, Ginger and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Bob and wife, Danielle, Noah and wife, Alicia, Amy Marie and husband, Cameron, Jacqui and husband, Glenn, and Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Roxie, Seth, Kate, Kylar, Leia, Aharon, Addie, and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis, parents, Irvin and Rosa Grimm, and brother, Ray.
A service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Catoosa Church of Christ.
A graveside will be held proceeding the funeral service at Floral Haven at 12:00 p.m.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Violet House at Oxford Glen Memory Care, as well as to Scooter and Chandler at Compasses Hospice. They also deeply appreciate the love and support from family and friends.
