Catherine M. Curoe "Kitty" Curtin

CURTIN, Catherine M. "Kitty" (Curoe), peacefully went to her eternal reward on Monday, February 18, 2008 after a short illness. She was born October 25, 1923 in New York, NY to Daniel J. Curoe and Anna (Bennett) Curoe. Catherine began her professional career with the Associated Press in Manhattan, NY. She married Michael F. Curtin on January 30, 1943. The wedding took place in Muskogee, where Michael, a U.S. Army officer, was stationed at Camp Gruber. The newlyweds honeymooned at the Mayo Hotel in Tulsa. Catherine then returned to New York City, and continued working for AP until she was re-united with her husband after WWII. Kitty and Mike again came to Oklahoma in 1952, moving to Tulsa due to Mike's transfer with American Airlines. Catherine raised her family in Tulsa, maintaining active participation in both Immaculate Conception and St Mary parishes. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 50 years, Michael F. Curtin; son, Daniel J. Curtin; and brother, Daniel J. Curoe. She is survived by: son, Michael F. Curtin (Suzanne); daughter, Catherine A. Curtin, and daughter, Margaret Creider (Paul), all of Tulsa; and daughter in law, Lucia Curtin of Laredo, TX. She is also survived by 6 grand children and 1 great-grandson. Kitty's pleasant, peaceful demeanor will be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery.
