Edward Hammonds Obituary

HAMMONDS -- Edward LeRoy, 69, died Monday, December 25, 2006. He was the son of Oscar Hammons and Agnes Hammons Jones. He is survived by: his wife Jenny. Ed is also survived by his 7 children, Ed Hammons of Chouteau, OK, Jim Hammons, Tulsa, DeAnne Millarr, White Oak, OK, and Darren Hammons of Owasso, OK, Todd Smoker, Tulsa, Julie Broam, Enterprise, AL, and Clay Smoker, Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; 4 sisters, Nancy Fialkowskie, Julie Evans, Mary Doshier and Virginia Walker. He was predeceased by: his brother, Jim Hammons; son, Tim Hammons; and grandson, Dustin Millarr. He was a Business Manager for L.E. Rader and Whitaker Orphanage and Administrator in Finance for the State of Oklahoma. He was a former member of the Rose Society and Kiawanas and Memorial Drive Church of Christ. He most enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren and making furniture for those he loved. He will be remembered as a kind, good man. Service 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Memorial Drive Church of Christ. Interment at 3 p.m., at Calvary Cemetery, Shawnee, OK. Moore Rosewood Chapel (918) 744-1202.

I worked with Ed in Departmental Services and grew to love him like a father. Ed always had a smile on his face and a story to tell you. God has blessed me with so many good friends in my life and I count Ed as one of them.
