Fred Beasley Obituary

Beasley, Fred L.

August 12, 1941 - December 3, 2023

Fred L. Beasley, age 82, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Sand Springs on August 12, 1941 and attended Will Rogers High School, where he played saxophone, was a drum major, and participated in the theater department. Fred attended the University of Tulsa where he met the love of his life, Paula Capps. Fred and Paula married, raised 3 wonderful sons, and found a spiritual family at First Methodist Church, where they led numerous teams on mission trips, and Fred served as President of the Builders Sunday School Class.

A pillar of the Tulsa community, Fred was a Paul Harris Fellow and President of his Rotary Club, President of BOMA, and President of IREM. For 15 years, Fred coached Junior High football and basketball and spent 25 years as a high school football official. Many of the young men he coached continued to view him as a mentor throughout his life.

The most important thing to Fred was his family. With 60 wonderful years together, Fred and Paula raised their 3 sons - Brent (Cindy), Scott (Polly), and Todd (Joli) - who, with their wives, are carrying on his legacy of "Family First" with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren (with the 3rd on the way). He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Lauredo Beasley, and his sister Jeanne Tramel. A visitation will be held from 4pm – 5pm, December 10th, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A memorial service will be held December 11th, at 1pm at First Methodist Church.

Fred was one of the nice guys in the world. I do not ever recall seeing Fred not happy. He always did what he said he would do. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed.

Sending our condolences to Paula and the boys. We spent some great years together singing with the New Joy Singers with Fred directing a diverse and sometimes mischievous group of teenagers. He was an outstanding choir director, a great Christian mentor and a devoted friend to all of us.

I am a second cousin of Freddie as we knew him. We only saw him rarely when his parents came to visit our grandmother (Maude Allen). A story followed the two of us for years in which Freddie and I `baptized´ several of my grandmother´s baby
chickens.
Condolences to all.

We often saw Fred and Paula sitting on their front porch greeting their friends and neighbors as they walked by. We were one of those lucky ones.

Fred and Paula; the kindest and friendliest neighbors one could ask for. Saw Fred virtually every day out in the yard; he was so nice and we always chatted for a minute. We are so sorry for Paula and the entire family; he will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Such an honor to know the Beasley's.
